Lori Surowiec Receives Spaulding Youth Center’s Spaulding Spirit Award

August 21, 2018

Spaulding Youth Center is pleased to present its most recent Spaulding Spirit Award to Lori Surowiec, Executive Assistant. This peer-nominated recognition is presented at each quarterly staff meeting to one employee who exemplifies Spaulding Spirit and makes peers proud to be working by their side.

Her colleagues described Ms. Surowiec as demonstrating unparalleled work ethic and trustworthiness as well as an unrivaled ability to multi-task. Ms. Surowiec was a clear choice as a Spirit Award recipient not only due to her numerous, compelling nominations but because of her overall devotion to her career at Spaulding Youth Center. She has worked at the organization for 44 years and is its longest tenured employee. Since her start at Spaulding, Ms. Surowiec has collaborated with 10 Executive Directors and Presidents and countless colleagues, building life-long relationships and a bond that can only be described as family.

“Lori treats everyone on campus with kindness and compassion and has a remarkably positive attitude,” said Susan C. Ryan, CEO & President of Spaulding Youth Center. “We received numerous nominations for Lori because she is always willing to support her colleagues by helping complete tasks, answering questions and so much more. In addition, Lori has an impressive organizational knowledge which means she is our go-to for Spaulding historical details. We are honored to have her continued dedication and enthusiasm on campus.”

Lori has one daughter, one granddaughter, three stepchildren, six step-grandchildren and a cat named Maxx. In her spare time, she enjoys attending her granddaughter’s softball games and gardening with her husband, William.
